A new toy...

Some of the first photos I've taken with my new Nikon D5000 camera and my fabulous 35mm 1.8 lens! I've been having so much fun playing around with it and taking it everywhere I go, so I thought I would share. This lens gives the best depth of field! Love it! :)

Lykke Li Love

Lykke Li is one of my favorite artists, and she has the best style! I love how she wears simple colors but is always playing around with big, cool shapes and lots of jewelry. I read somewhere that she buys a silver chain in every city that she visits. She likes to wear tons of rings, just like me. :) Also love that turban she's rockin'.

3.1 Phillip Lim

3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2010
To quote Rachel Zoe, um I DIE! Love the relaxed shapes and interesting textures here. Also a really great combination of masculine and feminine details. Such a cool-girl (but not trying too hard) vibe. Click here to see the full collection on Elle.com

The Gardener

"I sense a runner in the garden/ although my judgment's known to fail/ once built a steamboat in a meadow/ 'cause I'd forgotten how to sail."
The Gardener - The Tallest Man On Earth

First shots with my brand new Nikon D5000, plus a 35mm 1.8 lens! It was rather dark and I haven't totally learned to work it yet so these are a modest start, but I'm so so so excited to shoot with a new camera. Yay for graduation gifts.

Sauvie Island

Sauvie Island
6.12.10

It was finally warm enough last weekend to head to the beach! Ok, it's not the real beach, it's on the river, but it is the only beach anywhere near Portland that is ever warm enough to lay out and enjoy the sun. If you've ever been to the Oregon coast, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyway, it was a beautiful day and it was so nice to just sit in the sun, read, and snack on goldfish and kettle chips. And I finally got to wear my leopard print one-piece! :)

Now the cool weather is back (Portland is NOT cooperating with summer) and I am stuck with a disaster of a house (my parents', go figure, class of 2010...) while I try to unpack and organize all the little pieces of my life.

Daria Werbowy for Prada

I've been away from the blog for way too long! But, alas, I do have a good reason. I graduated from the University of Oregon yesterday! With a degree in Magazine Journalism, of course. :)
Anyway, more posts to come soon!

How amazing is this Prada ad campaign featuring Daria Werbowy? She is the ultimate supermodel. So beautiful and the girl can do anything! Just lovely...

Credit where credit is due, I first spotted this over at the fabulous Natalie Suarez's blog Natalie Off Duty. I couldn't resist re-posting this. And if you haven't checked out Natalie's blog, it is one of my favorites for inspiration and outfit posts.
